Another Football Injury added to list as Fidel Edwards breaks leg

It doesn't look as though Cricket teams are that bothered about injuries caused by playing Football prior to playing their game of Cricket.

England still do it, they did however manage to get through the Cricket World Cup free from Football injuries, but others have not been so lucky. Here is the list that just keeps on growing. The really bad news this week is that Fidel Edwards is out for at least two months for Hampshire with a broken leg.

Cricketers Injured Playing Football

Mark Wagh Warwickshire 2005
Matt Prior England 2009
Joe Denly England 2009
Micheal Vaughan Yorkshire 2009
Rohit Sharma India 2010
Mark Ramprakash Surrey 2011
Ishant Sharma India 2011
Shaminda Eranga Sri Lanka 2013
Yuvraj Singh India 2014
Keiron Pollard West Indies 2014
James Anderson England 2015
Vernon Philander South Africa 2015
Keith Piper Coach Leicestershire 2016
Fidel Edwards Hampshire 2016
Jonny Bairstow England 2018

I don't doubt for one minute there are a whole host of close calls and others smaller knocks. These are the big names that have made the news prior to quite a big game, a lot of them were in fact ankle injuries. I am sure the players love having a kick around, but I could not really see the benefit in India with the temperature in the 90's. Perhaps the next injury they will think again?
